Boots Martin was one of the stalwarts of the JayRob Theatre actor corps, and maintained a love of theatre from throughout JayRob’s final seasons, and into the Stagedoor Comedy Playhouse era and with the Chautauqua Playhouse, among others. She most recently was rehearsing for a performance at American River College. She passed away the Friday before she was to receive one of the first two ‘Lifetime Achievement’ Elly Awards.
The family has requested that we post the following information regarding an upcoming celebration of her life.

Dear Friends of Boots Martin:
As you may have heard, our Mom died in her sleep early Friday morning, September 23, 2011. The night before, she had been rehearsing The Full Monty at American River College, so you know she went to sleep happy.
The American River College Theater is hosting a special event celebrating the wonderful life of Boots Martin on Saturday, October, 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. There will be memories, music, and food. We sincerely hope you can attend.
If you can attend, please write down a happy memory of Mom—handwritten, typewritten, or computer print-out—and bring it with you to the celebration. We’ll post all the memories for her friends to read, and then collect them into a book for her family.
